Chantilly - Therapy Cat
2008 - 2011

Chantilly was our first therapy cat. Sadly, Chantilly passed away in 2011 after a brief illness. This page is kept in memory of a wonderful companion. She is missed.

Chantilly by Window

We picked a Chartreux for these traits—

  • Friendliness. Chantilly would run up to greet clients when they walked in the door.
  • Affectionate. She would often sit next to clients or on their laps during therapy.
  • Even-Tempered. If you pushed her away, she wouldn't take it personally.
  • Good with Other Cats & Dogs. We had two more cats and three dogs at home.
  • Tolerates Being Left Alone. She handled being left at home all day well.
  • Healthy. The Chartreux is generally a healthy breed.
  • Playful. Just ask the people in one of our therapy groups!

Chantilly Playing

Chantilly loved feathers and straws. Here, in this
photo of her as a kitten, you can see the famous
Chartreux smile.

Chantilly Hot Chick

Chantilly was known to put on dresses
for special occasions. She was easy-going
and tolerated a lot.

Chantilly in Box

Like all cats, Chantilly napped a lot.

Chantilly and Roxanne, the German Sheppard

Chantilly got along with just about everyone. She
and the German Sheppard Roxanne made an odd couple

Did we mention Chantilly slept a lot?

Chantilly sitting up for Sandra

Chantilly was very smart. For example,
she knew who had the treats.

She also was a wiz on the computer!
