Symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

People with PTSD may experience some of the following symptoms -

  • Repeatedly reliving the trauma in the form of nightmares and disturbing memories during the day
  • Sleep problems or changes in appetite
  • Feel detached or numb
  • Easily startled, on edge, overly alert
  • Tendancy to avoid long-term thinking
  • Loss of interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Sadness, despair, or hopelessness
  • Trouble feeling affectionate
  • Difficulty trusting others
  • Trouble concentrating on daily activities
  • Irritability
  • Aggressiveness
  • Distress when encountering situations that remind you of the trauma
  • Avoidance of situations that remind you of the trauma
