A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Can Help

Lynnette is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and has specialized training in psychopharmacology for individuals 16 and older and performs many of the same duties as a psychiatrist, including prescribing psychotropic medications. Lynnette will—

• Perform a psychiatric evaluation
• Arrive at a possible diagnosis or diagnoses
• Discuss treatment alternatives with you
• With your input develop a psychiatric treatment plan which may include psychotropic medications
• Write prescriptions, if appropriate, for anti-anxiety medication, anti-depression medication (antidepressant), ADHD medication, or other psychotropic medications
• Schedule follow-up visits to monitor your progress
• Coordinate with your primary care physician and your therapist when appropriate
